New Issue of Hacker’s Source

Publisher Eve Blaack told writersprison.com that the new issue of Hacker’s Source is right around the corner, and the new look for the ‘Source web site is almost complete, while Hacker’s Digest editor in chief Franklin E. Wales is hard at work putting together the sister magazine’s inaugural issue. Hacker’s Digest, which will focus on horror fiction, with columns and guest editorials written by such luminaries as Jack Ketchum (The Lost, Off Season), is still accepting submissions. Futuristic Robin Hood

The Hollywood Reporter announced that writer Jason Hall will write the screenplay for a futuristic imagining of Robin Hood, to take place in a dystopian London where the titular character and his band of thieves restore hope to the city-in-decline’s battered citizens.

FRINGE Returning

Writers for the hit FOX television series FRINGE announced at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that they are ahead of schedule on the new season’s episodes. The show will return Sept. 17 in the 9 p.m. slot.

Suzannah Contest Looking For Judges

NOLA STARs is in need of judges (published and unpublished) to judge our annual Suzannah Contest. Each entry will be no more than 7,200 words (approximately 25 pages). At least one page will be dedicated to a synopsis. All entries will be electronically judged.

The entries will be sent out the first of October and will not be needed back until November 15th. That gives you about six weeks to judge. If you

Ravich’s Next Stop? The Twilight Zone

Word’s out that Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, and Warner Brothers have tapped Rand Ravich to pen the script for a new cinematic version of Rod Serling’s iconic television show, The Twilight Zone. Ravich, who created the NBC TV series Life and wrote The Astronaut’s Wife, has some big shoes to fill, but here’s hoping this well-backed version is enough to breathe life anew into the property.
